Eurovision broke all the records

We might not have have won in Eurovision, but once again the competition received the «gold» award by the audience! This is because, according to official data of AGB, television transmission NET surpassed all previous transmission in terms of average audience, and thanks to the participation of Sakis Rouvas, who was responsible for the huge audience that the competition attracted. More specifically, the average audience (based on open sets of viewers at that time) during the Saturday final night was 35.9% (3,631,000 viewers on average each minute), while the general viewing was around 78.9% . The competition was watched even for a minute by 5,959,000 people (58.9% coverage). The audience was high throughout the transmission, and peaked at 00:33, the time of transmission of the results of the vote, reaching 40.1%, which corresponds to 4,062,000 people and 90% of people watching tv at the time. While during the broadcast of Â«This is our night» the audience reached 39.9% (4,039,000 people) and 83% share of the total of viewers. Most who attended the competition were women aged 15 to 24 years, and many children. Audience was equally high during Eurovision 2005 where Elena Paparizou conquers to the «Number One» and the first place, while the audience was reached unrealistic numbers again with Sakis participation in Eurovision 2004 that took place in Istanbul.

Indicative of how universal was the prevalence of the Eurovision on Saturday night is the fact that at the same time that Net was broadcasting Eurovision the audience of the other channels was minimal. The largest percentage was noted by ANT1 with foreign film «The raid» and was only 7.9%, while MEGA aired during the first phase "Polikatoikia" (a greek comedy series) has averaged only 4% and then the foreign film « The night of the generals » with only 1,9% of the total of viewers watching. In ALPHA the standard repetition of the show Â«Al Tsantiri Niouz» of Lakis Lazopoulos was not even broadcast, and those responsible for programming rescheduled it on Sunday, while for the same reason the «Gates of unexplained» by Costas Chardavella was not aired either.
