Who is Sakis Rouvas anyway?

Sakis is the first Greek pop Singer. It's as simple as that. Many other artists have tried to imitate him. Some were moderately successful. Others weren't. But none matched or surpassed the prototype.

So, just how famous is he?

In Greece he is concidered one of the most famous artists. He has released the album "Ola Kala" in France in 2002. That was a first for Greek artist. Later Despina Vandi, Helena Paparizou and Anna Vissi did the same.

But the event that truly introduced him to Europe was Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul, where he represented Greece with "Shake it" and came 3rd matching the highiest place Greece ever achieved along with Antique in 2001 who also achieved 3rd place untill 2005, when Helena won.

He is going to be even more famous because he will be hosting Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Greece along with Maria Menounos and millions of viewers will get the chance to see him performing and hosting again!
