Sakis and the earthquake in Istanbul

"We are definitely the best. Kisses". My mother send me that message as soon as Sakis finished his appearance on Saturday night. I had said the same thing to my friend and that is what my cousin announced to her neighbour and that's what all my buddies believed. "Shake it" redefined the Richter scale that couldn't measure such a huge vibration. Even if your TV was on "mute" you still knew you show a winner. You didn't know if it was his eyes, the girls' bikinis, the white jacket or the song but maybe it was all of the above. He was positively signing. I had to check my TV's settings to make certain I wasn't just imagining things.

I was at a loss of words. I wanted to say "How cute!", "How talented, he is!", "What a super - star!" Finally I said it all. In the end Ruslana won. She is cute too. She is a bit like Xena but on a miniature scale. I didn't even bother to figure out who voted what and why or how big it is to be third between 36 European countries. I was bored. But I wasn't disappointed. Sakis didn't win, he came third. But just for one night he made all the Greeks liberals and conservatives, intellectuals and average guys, ethnic and modern, agonize for him and finally made them acknowledge that Sakis is the best product for exportation that we have (even better than "extra virgin olive oil"), because he is not mass production. He is one. And right now he is the best.
