Sakis at LycabettusSakis at Lycabettus
When Sakis gave his autumn concert at Lykabettus he created a frenzy. John Poulis and the photographer Thanasis Leontidis disguised themselves as inspectors Clouzo to follow his tracks even back stage.
(Thank you Goddess of luck, that you allowed me to see him before he goes abroad).
Undoubtedly, the concert was the weekend’s top event. The whole city shook at the (rhythmic) vibrations that Sakis caused at Lykabettus. Thousands of Fans that started coming to the concert hall early in the evening were “present”. The concert was responsible for the traffic chaos that was caused especially at America’s St. and all the roads that lead to Lykabettus. The celebrities of Athens were there too. For instance Chrisanthi Lemou that was welcomed backstage by Ilias Psinakis.
On the stairs that lead backstage there were dozens of security people that had created a “wall” that none could pass unless he or she was wearing the “all access” pass around his or her neck. Only a few members of the production and the personnel of Saki’s were moving in order to satisfy the wishes of the Greek Star. And while the audience’s patience was running thin, things back stage were calm.
Around 21:30, Sakis was moved from his dressing room to a small room behind stage. Next to his room is a larger one used by the dancers that will accompany him while he is performing. Contrary to him (the presence of photographers disorganizes him), as soon as the photographers appear the show girls burst out and begin their warming up. All the choreographies were designed by Fokas Evaggelinos, who anxiously walks up and down and worries about the final outcome. Kostas Kapetanidis, the known videoclip director is there as well.
Time is passing slowly and agonizingly, at least for the people who has filled the concert hall. Suddenly agirl from the production steps out of a dressing room and yells “Call Ilias. This is an emergency!” Everybody’s eyes are on her. What happened, we all wonder. None has the answers. All we can see, from a tiny scratch on the wall is Sakis getting dressed and undressed and ready.
At 21:55 the concert begins. Sakis appearance is the starting point of the show and the first show is “Ola kala” (= All is alright). It lasted an hour and a half and it had everything. Sakis leaning on stage. Sakis urging his fans to yell louder – how much louder could they get? Sakis ripping of his T – Shirts. Sakis trying to touch his fans while they are trying to attract his attention. Sakis showing of his dancing skills and his stomach muscles. All things went well any way you look at it. The concert ended a few minutes before midnight when Sakis left the stage while his fans were still worshiping him and “literally” escaped in a black limo towards an unknown destination. But as it turns out it wasn’t as unknown as he would like to think. An hour later he and his co – workers were spotted at “Central” at the heart of Kolonaki, enjoying his favorite dish: sushi.
