Speaking about Eurovision: It was the most modern, the most integral performance, choreography and presentation

Lots of people helped

 

No doubt. Always a song has a composer, a choreographer, a team. I understand all this. You gave me the impression that you did not have any stress in the semi-finals or in the finals. Is that true or you’re just a grate actor? Because I was wondering this is not possible. Imagine that I was nervous and I was only sitting on the couch, kilometres away, watching you and wondering if you were stressed

I don’t know how the people understand the stress. I don’t feel stressed or nervous. I believe that the stress is a very negative feeling, doesn’t help. I feel however a lot of tension. All my senses are very sensitive. There is a lot of tension in the atmosphere, inside of me I am very concentrate in the thing that I am about to do.

 

Do you do something before you go on the stage? Do you have a particular way to relax, to focus? Do you exercise? You can’t all of the sudden as you speak on the phone tell “sorry I have to Hung up because I’m going on the stage, can you?

Sure, if you ask me to go on the stage when I am home, relaxed and I’m speaking on the phone for example it won’t be the same

 

So obviously you have a technique that relax you and gets you ready

Look everything needs preparation and especially if you have this contact with the audience, you have to be ready to give the best of you. So to give the best of me I have to contact with the audience before the performance

 

If you didn’t participate in the Eurovision contest but you were just a judge: to whom would you give the first prize, to Ruslana or to the Serbian?{ha ha} Did you think that Ruslana deserved the first prize?

Look there is not such thing as the best or worst in the music and in the show. Other thing did Ruslana and another thing did the Serbian. Both of the performances were great but different.

 

Indeed there were two different songs

We shouldn’t compare them. In effect Eurovision it’s up to what you like. I’m not a judge to decide which the best is. It’s what I like best and that depends on the preferences etc

 

I suppose you liked – as a listener no as a candidate -……….

I liked very much the Serbian’s song. It was nice, harmonius. I liked his voice, the instruments he used, his simple presence etc. Ruslana in the other hand was spectacular, dynamic, it was something else

 

Did she really fall in love during the rehearsals at Istanbul or all that was only marketing

I don’t know this things Natalia (journalist’s name) {ha ha}

 

She was always saying “I love Sakis”, “I’m crazy about Sakis” , “He’s gorgeous” and I was wondering if she made a pass at you behind the cameras. Or all this was only marketing?

She was always sweet with me!!!!

 

And you are always diplomatic!!!{ha ha}

I don’t know what to say to you. The truth is that since then we didn’t have any contact

 

Just when she came to Athens and you two had lunch in Bruscetto (Athens’s restaurant)

Yes I have

 

So you have a friend that you can tell him all the things song says: to tell him I’m dying for a woman you have to take care of me, I cut my veins for her, please help me? Or Sakis Rouvas do not cut his veins for a woman?

Yes I can and for more important things

 

What you cut your veins or you can ask a friend!!!!

Your friends are from the showbiz or outside of it?

No they aren’t from the showbiz

 

Do you hang out with any singer?

Yes but not very often. We hang out with Antonis Remos. I’ve been on vacation with Despina Vandi

 

You were with Anna Vissi at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Yes

 

So we spoke about the friends. What about the enemies. Do you have any from the showbiz?

No No

 

You don’t believe that! You think that there aren’t people who can be glad with your failure?

These aren’t my enemies necessary because there are always people who can be glad with the failure of the others.

 

You’re right, they are frustrated

It’s their problem

 

Let’s talk about the concert. Saturday 25/09 at 21 o’clock Lycabettus hill is going to be shaked

I think that it will be the best concert that I’ve done in Greece

 

Why you saying that? You feel more prepared?

Yes, we are well prepared, it’s a big production that we have made with Fokas (his choreographer), and it’s a very good mise-en-scene. I hope that we’ll have a lot of fun!

 

I think that you’re enjoying more the concerts than the buzukia (greek style of night clubs with live music)

They are two different things. Perhaps you’re right

 

The concert has a different bit

At the concert the audience is on their feet from the beginning. They are warmer. At the club it’s different. People come to see other artists too

 

I forgot to ask you the second question that inspired me the song Pes Tis. Have you loved a woman but despite that you’ve felt that you have to go?

“Pause”

I am begining to count 1, 2, 3

You know, love can’t keep you away. You can’t love somebody and the same time you want to be away from him

 

But if you feel that she harms you as the song says?

In that case my opinion is that you have to stay away

 

But then isn’t true love, I think

Look you can love everything even the things that harm you, so it’s not necessary to be with them always. You tell me how that is possible! Something that harmed me and I loved it, I can learn from it. It doesn’t mean that you hate it afterwards

 

Of course not

You love it for all the things it gave you, for all the things it teaches you. But it doesn’t mean that you have to keep it by your side or to continue this experience

 

Do you fall in love easily?

What do you mean easily?

 

Means if you have predisposition

Yes I have a huge one. I like being in love

 

Everyone does!!!

I like very much being in love because it fills you with life, power. It’s a passion, a motive It’s an inspiration, it’s the oxygen. It’s everything. It’s everything

 

And what is that thing that’ll make you notice a girl? It depends on her appearance, on the way she’ll approach you, on her character?

There isn’t a particular thing that I notice. It can be anything. It’s a feeling that comes from nowhere. It’s not necessary to be something specific. The first impact is the appearance, it comes easily but this isn’t so important

 

So you aren’t interested of the appearance. Certainly you look for something deeper.

Ok the look is something very nice. It’s a nice thing to have next to you beautiful people, to see beautiful people. But what you feel is more important than what you see. That is what stays after all, in your hurt, in your soul, in your mind

 

This talk that we have begun let’s make it more specific, despite you threaten me to not ask you personal things. The last year it said that you lived two great loves. I hope not at the same time! (ha ha ) I’m talking about Rebecca and Katia

Look the people that I lived with, I love them. They are a piece of your past. Sure I am in contact with all the people who passed through my life

 

A listener sends me an amazing SMS. Her name is Ageliki and she says to me that 2 years ago her boyfriend slapped her as they watching you on tv cause she said about you “He’s a god”. Did you feel to become an object of jealousy and competition from the boyfriends of your female funs?

No, but I don’t think that there is a competition. On the contrary the last years I feel the boys as my friends. You know they’re saying to me at the street “what’s up men”

 

Do you have female friends?

It’s not the sex that matters

 

So could you have a close female friend?

Sure

 

So you don’t think that in a relationship between a man and a woman there is always egotism

It can also be happening. You know all the relationships have something erotic. The percentage counts

So presentation of the gold cd “To xrono stamatao” and of the double platinum “shakes it”. Are you used to all this situation or your happiness is that big as the first time?

Look I feel happier when I’m going on stage and I feel the people. Then my happiness is huge. Of course I am happy that people buying my discs. That means that they liked them

 

I think that this cd is your favourite. Am I wrong? Once you told me that the songs of this cd express you most

Yes I like them very much

 

Is true that you’ll preparing a new cd with Theofanous (greek composer, the one of the cd Kati apo Mena)

Yes

 

Well!! He’ll do something different this time or he’ll approach your style (pop-rock)?

It’s too early to talk about details. It won’t be ready soon.

 

When will it be ready?

We’ll see. I have many things to do\

 

After Easter?

Not that late. We talk about it. I think Theofanous is in a good phase with his life. He’ll write great

I write every day
