Sakis in the role of a killerSakis in the role of a killer
From daddy to ... psycho killer! Sakis has two faces: one of daddy cool of the small «Rouvitsas» which his partner Katia Zygouli give birth to and yet one darker .... Sakis first international attempt in film is to play the maniac killer Abner Solvie.
Where exactly are we going to see him? The film is titled «Duress» (free version will say «Threatening Violence»), which will be screened in 2009. For the purposes of the project the Greek pop star «ruffled» his image of the good guy. The film is a psychological thriller, directed by the Australian Barker Jordan, Rouvas is co-starring with the known actor Martin Ntonovan. The cinefil will certainly remember him by the side of Nicole Kidman in the project «The Portrait of a lady», but also in the award winning serial «Weeds», where he was cast as a police officer of the drug squad who forms a relationship with the central heroine, a ... marijuana dealer!
Martin is very popular in America. As regards to the cooperation with the Rouvas, as we learn, it was very good. As for the story of the movie it is about the eternal game of cat and mouse, which translates into a chase between a killer (Sakis) and the family man Richard Barnett, who is played by Ntonovan. The «bad Sakis» is psychological blackmailing the «good Martin» targeting his eleven year old daughter, traping him and forcing him to witness the murders he commits.
The producer of the film is the Dominican Julio Carrots, well known internationally, mainly due to his collaborations with Jennifer Lopez. He is behind the expensive movie «El Cantante», which the Latina diva starred along with her husband Marc Anthony, but also from the former film «The cell». The premiere of the film «Duress» in cinemas will start in May from Eastern Europe (times are very close to the Eurovision contest where Sakis Rouvas will represent again Greece) and will continue in September 2009 with screenings in western countries but also across the Atlantic.
